Reports from the US claim an incident broke out\ufeff at the WBA convention in Orlando, Florida, between the son of Michael Zerafa's<\/a> agent and boxing promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.<\/p>\n

According to BoxingScene, \ufeffthe son of Elvis Grant, the well known boxing glove manufacturer and Zerafa's agent, got into an altercation with veteran promoter Lewkowicz, with claims the 72-year-old was allegedly spat on.<\/p>\n

There were reportedly disagreements about mandatory bouts and interim titles.<\/p>\n

Zerafa and his team are in the US to thrash out details about his upcoming world title bout, with WBA boss Gilberto Mendoza set to order a championship fight against Erislandy Lara next year.\ufeff<\/p>\n

A downcast Zerafa is seen in the background with his arms crossed as boxing great and and Golden Boy promotions executive Bernard Hopkins stepped in.<\/p>\n

The Aussie boxer tried to stop Hopkins but was pushed away as the former champion went after the son of Elvis Grant.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Hopkins, yelled that Lewkowicz had been spat on.<\/p>\n

"Where'd that punk-ass Elvis go? He spit in Sampson's face," Hopkins told WBA chief Gilberto Jesus Mendoza. "I told him you don't do that here!"<\/p>\n

Hopkins then appeared to offer to fight Zerafa's agent, going face-to-face with him for a moment before saying: "Motherf—er let's me and you, like men, go in the bathroom by ourselves.<\/p>\n

"Your son spit in his face."<\/p>\n

Grant replied, "I don't want to do that" before they were separated.<\/p>\n

BoxingScene reports \ufeffLewkowicz filed a report with police over the incident.<\/p>\n

Zerafa has patiently waited for his world title shot this year but has been made to sit on the sidelines\ufeff as the WBA's number one ranked contender in the middleweight division.<\/p>\n

He took a reported six-figure payout so Lara could take on Danny Garcia, meaning he would take on the winner.<\/p>\n

That bout was slated for August, but has still not been locked in despite multiple date and venue changes.<\/p>\n
