D\ufeffespite the Melbourne Stars<\/a> suffering another disappointing loss to hinder their desire to win their maiden BBL title<\/a>, veteran Marcus Stoinis<\/a> is full of hope.<\/p>\n

The Stars went down to the Perth Scorchers<\/a> by seven wickets with 37 balls remaining on Wednesday night, suffering their second loss in their two opening matches of the season.<\/p>\n

In their opening game, they were annihilated by 103 runs at the hands of the Brisbane Heat\ufeff.<\/p>\n

Although the team is struggling with injuries, headlined by captain Glenn Maxwell's forearm troubles<\/a> and Nathan Coulter-Nile (calf), Stoinis believes the side can turn their poor start around.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"To be honest, (the fielding performance) was purely the boys bringing the right attitude," Stoinis said post match said.<\/p>\n

\"Marcus<\/p>\n

"They (the team) had every excuse not to (bring the right attitude) with a target of 100.<\/p>\n

"I think the spinners bowled beautifully, I think the boys fielded great and I'd like to think that's probably the blueprint for us energy wise going forward."<\/p>\n

The Stars now have a nine-day break, which gives Maxwell ample time to recover from his arm injury, in hopes of turning around their season.<\/p>\n

The men in green will face the Sydney Thunder, with the focus now turned to keeping a positive "attitude" \ufeffin search of glory.<\/p>\n

"We can't play the game before we get there, but we'll get there and assess (the conditions) as best we can," Stoinis said.<\/p>\n

"There are no excuses, but we do know the toss does make a difference. We won't make a mountain out of (the Scorchers loss) but we'll take some learning.<\/p>\n

"I honestly think we took a big step forward in attitude. So, if we can control our attitude more often than not, we'll start to shift things around."<\/p>\n
