Three words were all it took for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck<\/a> to turn his back on a deal to play union in Japan and return to the league club that made him a household name in New Zealand.<\/p>\n

As the Blues<\/a> lost faith in the star winger and his hopes of playing for the All Blacks<\/a> in the Rugby World Cup<\/a> faded, Tuivasa-Sheck began looking elsewhere.<\/p>\n

A deal to play in Japan's Rugby League One competition<\/a> could have lined his pockets and set him up long-term.<\/p>\n

Still, the desire to win permeated and with the Warriors enjoying a purple patch he reached out to former teammates Jazz Tevaga and Tohu Harris.<\/p>\n

The intention of RTS was clear. He wanted back in.<\/p>\n

"I thought I was going to go onto rugby," said Tuivasa-Sheck.<\/p>\n

"I had a Japan deal lined up and I was just going to go take my family, explore the world, see what happens and go from there.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"But I came back, went and worked through the process, I called Jazz and Tohu, who I was close with at the time to go, 'Okay, bro. Sit down, let's have a coffee. Just tell me one thing, do I just go? Go to Japan and take off and see what happens or do I come back? Is there something?'\u00a0<\/p>\n

"They both looked at each other and said, 'Bro, there's something here' \u2013 and that got me excited."<\/p>\n

That set the wheels in motion for Tuivasa-Sheck to return to the Warriors.<\/p>\n

"Then I had another catch-up with Webby (Andrew Webster, Warriors head coach)," Tuivasa-Sheck explained.<\/p>\n

"Came through, made the decision to come back. I'm just excited now because they're excited because they feel something here.\u00a0Hopefully in the next few years something special happens."<\/p>\n

His return does raise one key question. Where exactly will he fit in?<\/p>\n

RTS played on a wing for the Warriors and was either on a wing or at fullback for Auckland, the Blues and the All Blacks.<\/p>\n

Now, it looks like he'll play in the centres for the Warriors with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak set to sport the No.1 and No.2 jerseys respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
