Highly sought-after Fremantle<\/a> ruckman Sean Darcy has turned away from rival club offers, signing with the Dockers on a monster deal that ties him to the club until 2030.<\/p>\n

Darcy was expected to become a free agent after the 2024 season, but signed the contract that sees him remain in purple until the start of the next decade.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAfter an ankle injury restricted him to just 15 games in 2023, Darcy, who is originally from Cobden in Victoria, said the club is ready to contend.<\/p>\n

Alongside prized recruit Luke Jackson, Darcy has declared the Dockers aren't "shying away" from the criticism after their dismal 14th-placed finish in 2023, with the club yet to win a flag.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We had a bit of a disappointing year last season and we're not shying away from it," Darcy said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"Everyone is on board that we need to be better, we need to improve and we need to improve quickly.<\/p>\n

"We're trying to get the best out of each other and we're working hard every day to push each other, so it's really exciting.<\/p>\n

"It's a really exciting time for the footy club, we've got some really talented players.<\/p>\n

"We just need to get stuck into it and I can't wait for the season to start. I've got full belief in our team, our list and what we're building and everything going forward."<\/p>\n

Fremantle will welcome Darcy to the 100 games club in 2024, as he sits on 98 games at the end of 2023.<\/p>\n
