Western Bulldogs<\/a> superstar Bailey Smith<\/a> \ufeffis likely to miss the entire 2024 season after suffering an ACL injury at training on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Smith left the ground during the session for scans, with the injury's severity confirmed by the club. \ufeff\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We're all extremely disappointed for Bailey, and empathise with him greatly," Bulldogs' executive director of football, Chris Grant, said.<\/p>\n

Smith's future at the Western Bulldogs was subject to speculation during the trade period with Geelong reportedly interested.<\/p>\n

The injury means Smith may have potentially played his last game for the club, with his current contract running out at the end of 2024.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old is the second AFL player to suffer an ACL injury this pre-season with Magpies forward Daniel McStay also out for the 2024 season<\/a>.<\/p>\n
