The International Cricket Council\ufeff has confirmed it will introduce a stop clock in men's One Day<\/a> and T20<\/a> International matches until April.<\/p>\n

On a trial basis, the stop clock\ufeff will begin during the T20 match between the West Indies and England on Tuesday in Barbados.<\/p>\n

The aim of the stop clock will be to reduce the time taken between overs, with a 60-second limit to be put in place for both ODI and T20 matches.<\/p>\n

It will force the bowling team to be ready to bowl within the given time frame.<\/p>\n

After two warnings, a failure to begin an over a third time within those 60 seconds will result in a five-run penalty against the team fielding.<\/p>\n

ICC general manager Wasim Khan said the aim was to keep the game constantly in motion.<\/p>\n

"The stop clock trial in white ball international cricket follows the introduction of a successful new playing condition in 2022, which resulted in the fielding team only being allowed four fielders outside of the inner circle if they were not in a position to bowl the first ball of their final over in the stipulated time," Khan said via an ICC statement on Monday.<\/p>\n

The stop clock will be closely monitored across all matches until the end of April.\ufeff<\/p>\n
