Hawthorn<\/a> recruit Jack Ginnivan<\/a> has been honoured with a special jumper number at his new club.<\/p>\n

Ginnivan, who was part of Collingwood's 2023 premiership side that overcame Brisbane by four points<\/a>, will wear the famous No.33 in the brown and gold after his trade to Hawthorn in the off-season.<\/p>\n

Donning the number made famous by superstar small forward Cyril Rioli<\/a>, Ginnivan will hope to replicate elements of Rioli's career which saw him win four premierships (2008, 2013-2015), and collect three All-Australian blazers and the 2015 Norm Smith medal.<\/p>\n

Luckily for Ginnivan, Tyler Brockman, who previously wore the 33, has left Hawthorn and joined West Coast, freeing up the number for the lifelong Hawks fan.<\/p>\n

Ginnivan noted that he was a big Sam Mitchell fan growing up, with the latter now his coach at the Hawks.<\/p>\n

"It's weird, one of my favourite players was obviously Sam," Ginnivan said.<\/p>\n

Even though the No.33 holds significant weight around Hawthorn because of Rioli's success\ufeff, Ginnivan admitted that when he was first traded to Hawthorn, he felt it was a full-circle moment to play under the four-time premiership Hawk.<\/p>\n

"Growing up, watching him having his number on my back, those are things that you dream of as a little kid and then for that to happen, it's just so special," the 20-year-old said.<\/p>\n

Mitchell's famous No.5 is worn by James Worpel.<\/p>\n

Meantime, Collingwood premiership defender Isaac Quaynor had opened up on life around Collingwood since Ginnivan's exit.<\/p>\n

"It's a little bit more quiet," Quaynor said at Melbourne Park on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"There's not as much banter between me and him [Ginnivan] but he's one of my good mates so we still stay in touch heaps.<\/p>\n
