Marc Nave gave his commitment to Kentucky a month ago. The offensive lineman had committed to Ohio State in early June.<\/p>\n
It has been a whirlwind fall for Nave, an offensive lineman at Central Catholic (Toledo, Ohio).\u00a0In late September, three months after he had verballed, Nave de-committed from Ohio State. By Nov. 16, Nave had given his verbal to Kentucky.<\/p>\n
It was an opportunity, Nave said, that was a perfect fit for him.<\/p>\n
\n“I would say the reason I committed to UK was because of the family atmosphere down there,” Nave told USA TODAY High School Sports.<\/p>\n
“And the great opportunities presented to me that I wasn\u2019t getting from other schools.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Nave is ranked the No. 25 player in Ohio and the No. 45 interior offensive lineman in the nation according to 247Sports<\/a>.\u00a0He also held offers from Auburn<\/a>, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia<\/a>, Indiana, Louisville, Missouri, Pittsburgh and Purdue among others.<\/p>\n
It is a bit of a gamble for Nave. Ohio State is, well, THE<\/strong> Ohio State, one of the blueblood programs of college football.<\/p>\n
Kentucky is a strong program, but Nave said he needed to follow his heart in making this decision.<\/p>\n
\n“For sure it was (a risk) but I think I made the right decision due to the fact that I felt like God had a different calling for me and another place where I would be more comfortable at,” Nave said.<\/p>\n
