A 16-year-old amateur has lit up the scoreboard on the third morning of the Australian Open<\/a>, hitting a rare albatross.<\/p>\n

In calm but muggy conditions, Ann Jang made the rare two on the first hole of The Australian Golf<\/a> Club in Sydney's east, which plays as a par-five for the women this week.<\/p>\n

Having started the morning at three-over, that one shot took her back to even-par for the tournament, before she dipped into red figures with a birdie on the par-4 seventh.<\/p>\n

She sat in a tie for eighth place as she approached the turn, still some eight shots off overnight leader Jiyai Shin, who will begin her third round this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Calum Hill became the second player this week to hit a hole-in-one, draining his tee shot at the par-3 11th.<\/p>\n

Having shot back-to-back 70s at The Australian and The Lakes in his first two rounds, Hill arrived at the 11th one-under for the day.<\/p>\n

The Scot hit a smooth 7-iron on the 174m hole.\ufeff<\/p>\n
