N\ufeffew South Wales youngster Jason Sangha<\/a> has taken an early contender for the catch of the summer during a Sheffield Shield<\/a> clash against Tasmania.<\/p>\n

Sangha's acrobatics came early on in the day as he flung himself to his left to take a sensational catch to dismiss Jake Doran in Tasmania's first innings.<\/p>\n

Incredibly, that would not be Doran's only batting innings of the day.<\/p>\n

Tasmania managed 200 in its first innings and then rolled NSW for just 118 in its second dig, leaving them with a paltry target of 143 to chase.<\/p>\n

The Tigers then ran into a rampant Chris Tremain, who took six wickets as the Blues ran out 74-run winners after dismissing Tasmania for just 68 in the second innings.<\/p>\n

This week's Shield encounters have plenty of Test implications, with the likes of Marcus Harris, Cameron Bancroft, Matt Renshaw, Will Pucovski<\/a> and even Cameron Green<\/a> all jostling to replace the retiring David Warner.<\/p>\n

Green fared the best of the bunch, hitting 96 in Western Australia's first innings against Queensland before being dismissed thanks to another brilliant catch in the gully from Michael Neser.<\/p>\n

Pucovski also fared well, \ufeffregistering his first half-century of the Shield season with a hard-fought 65 in Victoria's second innings against South Australia.<\/p>\n
