Woods said only there were options, a lot of moving parts and that all sides were working aggressively toward finalising a deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the parties are talking and we\u2019re aggressively working on trying to get a deal done,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re all trying to make sure that the process is better, too. Now there are five private equity groups wanting to get involved, such as Fenway Sports Group and a Friends of Golf, a group that includes Henry Kravis and George Roberts.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement announced in June set a December 31 deadline to be finalised, though there was a clause that it could be extended.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Watch the 2023 Australian Open golf live and free from November 30 on Nine and<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/stream.9now.com.au\/L2EXsvS0kvb\"><em><strong>9Now<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am confident a deal will get done in some way,\u201d Woods said. \u201cWhether that comes December 31 or is pushed back, all sides understand we\u2019re working together.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Among the topics is a fair pathway back to the tour for LIV players who want to return, and where team golf can fit in. He said the future appeared just as murky for those working on the agreement as it might seem to those on the outside.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"497587c3-9064-451e-ae74-4efc648ca229\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/497587c3-9064-451e-ae74-4efc648ca229\" alt=\"Cameron Smith in action during the Australian PGA Championship pro-am.\" data-width=\"2231\" data-height=\"1340\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#x27;s a lot of moving parts on how we\u2019re going to play, whether it\u2019s here on the PGA Tour or it\u2019s merging or team golf,&quot; he said. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of different aspects that are being thrown out there all at once and we are trying to figure all that out and what is the best solution for all parties and best solution for all the players that are involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among moving parts is his ankle, which appears to be moving just fine. Woods said it was a matter of time before he would have needed ankle replacement surgery or fusion, and he chose the latter in April a few weeks after he made the cut at the Masters but then withdrew.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have any of the ankle pain that I had with the hardware that\u2019s been placed in my foot. That&#x27;s all gone,\u201d Woods said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other parts of my body, my knee hurts, my back. The forces go somewhere else. Just like when I had my back fused, the forces have to go somewhere. So it\u2019s up the chain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-video-id=\"6341890285112\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/pickerimage-66.jpg\" alt=\"Min Woo Lee&#x27;s huge Tiger Woods call\" data-vms-id=\"ref:clpi2b98z00030jpik6mui6gu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He said he was \u201cjust as curious as all of you\u201d how he would play against a 20-man field in the Bahamas, though he said walking 90 holes (including the pro-am) would not be an issue.<\/p>\n<p>Woods has been saying for years that his schedule would be drastically reduced because of so many surgeries. He sounded far more optimistic going into 2024, suggesting an ideal scenario of once a month, still uncertain if that&#x27;s realistic.<\/p>\n<p>Such a schedule might include Riviera in February, The Players Championship in March and the majors in April, May, June and July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week is a big step in that direction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The other direction is working toward a finalised deal by the end of the year, or soon thereafter. Woods also is seen as a top candidate to be the next US Ryder Cup captain for Bethpage Black in 2025.
