Algeria\u2019s Elias Mahmoudi will kick off 2024 with the opportunity of a lifetime – a shot at the ONE Championship flyweight kickboxing world title.
\nThe 25-year-old will take on Thai superstar Superlek on ONE Fight Night 18 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on January 13.
\nThe Algerian is 3-2 in ONE, but comes on the back of an impressive first round TKO of Edgar Tabares last time out. Well-versed in both kickboxing and Muay Thai he holds an overall professional record of 33-7, with a couple of world titles to his name including being a previous. WBC Muay Thai International Super Featherweight Champion.
\nTraining since the age of five, Mahmoudi has been a permanent fixture at his family gym, and has seemed destined for greatness from an early age. Thailand has been a big part of his martial arts education, but the Mahmoudi Gym is still where he calls home.
\nHis opponent, champion Superlek, needs little introduction. He holds a phenomenal 12-1 record in ONE, with a status-defining win against flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang in his last appearance.\u00a0
