Chilean Joaquin Niemann has set the galleries alight at Royal Queensland<\/a> with a stunning hole-in-one.<\/p>\n

Starting his final round at the Australian PGA Championship<\/a> some eight shots off the lead, Niemann arrived at the par-3 fourth hole at Royal Queensland off the back of three consecutive pars.<\/p>\n

Hitting in 8-iron, Niemann's ball landed short of the flag and then rolled into the side of the hole.<\/p>\n

"How about it?" Mat Thompson quipped in commentary.<\/p>\n

"That's got the party started, and then some," Warren Smith added.<\/p>\n

Niemann then took off for a series of high-fives with the gallery who was no doubt waiting for the final group of the day featuring overnight leader Min Woo Lee a couple of groups behind.<\/p>\n

"He might do a complete lap – watch him go," Smith said.<\/p>\n

"What a shot. It's a tough pin to get to … it fed out to the hole like it was under remote control," Smith said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

To that point, the fourth was playing one of the harder holes on the course.<\/p>\n

With the pin located in the back-left corner of the green, well-protected by a bunker, only seven birdies had been scored, to go with 20 bogeys and three double-bogeys.<\/p>\n

Overnight leader Min Woo Lee began the day with a three-shot lead over Japan's Rikuya Hoshino, but had squandered it by the time he arrived at the third tee.<\/p>\n

Lee started bogey-par, while Hoshino kept up his red hot form from the back nine yesterday and started birdie-birdie to claim a share of the lead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
