Min Woo Lee<\/a> will begin the final round of the\u00a0Australian PGA Championship<\/a> in the box seat to claim a maiden title.<\/p>\n

Lee carded a second successive five-under 66 to sit at 17-under, three clear of Rikuya Hoshino and four of Curtis Luck.<\/p>\n

He made four birdies and two bogies on the front nine but came alive on the back nine to card a bogie-free three-under on the back nine.<\/p>\n

Already a popular figure, the 25-year-old appears relaxed too. After making his par putt on the party hole at the par-3 17th, Lee threw his ball into the crowd \u2013 as most players were \u2013 and then led them in a Viking clap.<\/p>\n

Hoshino was the big mover of the day though \u2013 firing a stunning 7-under 64, including a sensational six-under on the back nine.<\/p>\n

Playing in the final group with Lee were Adam Scott and John Lyras.<\/p>\n

Scott struggled to get going in the third round, carding an even-par 71 with two birdies and two bogies.<\/p>\n

The 2013 Masters Champion had a putt for birdie on the 12th that would have tied him with Lee at the top of the leaderboard, but missed.<\/p>\n

Lee said he was "pretty happy" with his Saturday in the office.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI played solid … there was a little mishap in the middle there, but I came back quite nicely," he said.<\/p>\n

Lee said he felt a momentum shift after Scott missed that putt.<\/p>\n

"But I decided I have to control my emotions and how I feel, so I just went out there and swung how I've been swinging.<\/p>\n

"It's been amazing, I've been hitting amazing shots and when I do hit those blemishes, it's just golf."<\/p>\n

Lee said he had allowed himself a couple of moments to enjoy the atmosphere of a home crowd and had even allowed himself to dream of victory.<\/p>\n

"That was the most claps and high-fives I've ever done in a hole, so I definitely had to regroup on 18," he said of the Viking clap on the 17th.<\/p>\n

"But it was an amazing feeling but hopefully I have a few shot lead and I can do the same tomorrow.<\/p>\n

"To have family and friends over here, it would be amazing to win.<\/p>\n

"But I've still got a long 24 hours still, so hopefully I get a good night's sleep and the golf follows.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Earlier, the party hole nearly exploded when Jason Scrivener came within centimetres of making a hole-in-one.<\/p>\n

Playing as one of the hardest holes on the course on Saturday, Scrivener's shot landed towards the front of the green and came to rest with part of the ball almost hanging over the edge of the hole.<\/p>\n

"Half a roll and there was an ace on the party hole," Mat Thompson said in commentary.<\/p>\n

"He can soak up the applause \u2013 sold out around the party hole today, and his caddy is trying to amp them up even more."<\/p>\n

Scrivener tapped in his birdie and then threw the ball into the crowd.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Cameron Smith – who missed the cut after a terrible second round – thrilled crowds by making an appearance at an autograph signing.\ufeff<\/p>\n
