Mark Zuckerberg's coach says \ufeffthe Facebook founder's fighting abilities are real and his interest in martial arts is "not a gimmick."<\/p>\n

Khai Wu (7-4-0) will make his Professional Fighters League<\/a> debut on Saturday (AEDT) against Phil Caracappa (9-3-0) on the undercard of the PFL World Championship in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

Wu coaches and trains with \ufeffZuckerberg at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu in San Jose.<\/p>\n

"People are going: 'well, how good is he?' It's like if you compare him to a UFC Fighter or PFL fighter, like what are you categorising them as? But someone as successful as him at his age (39) getting into martial arts, it's like, man, he takes it very seriously," Wu said during a PFL media day.<\/p>\n

"It's not a gimmick. It's not like an act where he's doing this for fun and then you don't expect to see him in the next couple weeks. No, he's been doing it for a while."<\/p>\n

Zuckerberg is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered while training for his first "competitive MMA fight."<\/p>\n

He has trained with UFC superstars Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya and was in talks for a cage fight against Elon Musk earlier this year.<\/a><\/p>\n

In May, the tech billionaire won two medals in his first jiu-jitsu tournament held at a Silicon Valley school.<\/a><\/p>\n

"He's really disciplined and I'm not kidding when I say this, (he's) like a student of the game," Wu said.<\/p>\n

"He asks questions. You know, people want to say he's not a real fighter, he's not fought. If you want to get technical, he's a martial artist because he trains a lot and this is his coffee in the mornings. He likes to train."<\/p>\n

Wu also told Mirror Fighting that Zuckerberg was "super strong, because he's an athlete. He is always working out or doing something."<\/p>\n

"We're a similar size but man he was strong, I was like 'holy crap, there's no way, this is ridiculous'," the 28-year-old said.<\/p>\n
