A PGA Tour<\/a> professional ranked 190th in the world has lashed a lucrative incentive which is only making the top players richer.<\/p>\n

\ufeffNate Lashley, 40, made the bold decision to post to Instagram a private memo sent by the Tour to registered players this week.<\/p>\n

It outlined the breakdown of this year's Player Impact Program (PIP) payments.<\/p>\n

The PIP essentially rewards the top 20 players who have brought positive attention to the PGA Tour, through social media and other means.<\/p>\n

A total pool of \ufeff$153 million is split between those 20 players as an incentive for supposedly bolstering the sport.<\/p>\n

But Lashley – who was not one of the 20 players handed a sizeable bonus this year – is filthy at the PGA Tour for lining the pockets of players who generally are already the best paid in the game.<\/p>\n

"How many golf fans actually know what the PIP on the PGA Tour is?" Lashley wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the email.<\/p>\n

"Would love to hear from golf\/PGA fans if they think this $100 million (USD) was spent well?<\/p>\n

"There's 150-200 members of the PGA Tour and they just spent $100 million (USD) on 20 players. Seems a little ridiculous.<\/p>\n

According to the screenshot on Lashley's post, Irish champion and PGA Tour loyalist Rory McIlroy tops the list this year with a \ufeff$22.8m bonus.<\/p>\n

Tigers Woods – who has barely competed on Tour this year – is second with $18.3m, while Masters champion Jon Rahm pockets an extra \ufeff$13.7m.<\/p>\n
