Geelong<\/a> draftee Connor O'Sullivan has spilled on his inadvertent\ufeff snub of Cats legend Joel Selwood<\/a>, which saw the youngster brush the retired great when his mate's name was called out by Greater Western Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moments after O'Sullivan was selected by the Cats with pick 11 at the AFL draft<\/a> on Monday night, the Giants sprung a massive surprise by pouncing on Phoenix Gothard with pick 12<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As O'Sullivan chatted with Selwood after receiving his guernsey from the former premiership-winning Geelong captain, he exploded with excitement and ran to celebrate with Gothard when his mate's name was announced at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt was all pretty full on, to be honest. The adrenaline was in overdrive," O'Sullivan said on Nine's Today<\/em> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\"Geelong<\/p>\n

"[I] obviously got presented the jumper by Joel Selwood, which was pretty special. [He's] obviously not just a great of of Geelong but a great of the AFL.<\/p>\n

"I was sort of caught up in the moment a little bit and then I heard Phoenix's name and I was like so excited that I [thought], 'I have to get over there, I can't miss that'.<\/p>\n

"It was just a wave of emotions that hit me all at the same time."<\/p>\n

Gothard was attending the draft as a guest of O'Sullivan, who he played with at the Murray Bushrangers.<\/p>\n

Gothard was presented his jumper by former GWS skipper Phil Davis.\ufeff<\/p>\n
