Golden State Warriors<\/a> star Draymond Green<\/a> could be set for a lengthy suspension after putting an opponent in a choke hold during a wild NBA<\/a> brawl.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in the opening minutes of the Warriors' clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday (AEDT).<\/p>\n

Things kicked off after Green's teammate Klay Thompson got tangled up with Wolves forward Jaden McDaniels as the pair tried to run down the floor\ufeff, with the pair engaging in a pushing match.<\/p>\n

Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert came into remonstrate with Thompson before Green ran in and put him in a choke hold, leaving \ufeffthe 216cm Frenchman gasping for air.<\/p>\n

Warriors coach Steve Kerr could be seen pleading with Green to loosen his right arm, which was wrapped around Gobert's neck as other players, coaches and referees intervened.<\/p>\n

Green, Thompson and McDaniels were all ejected, with the ejection Green's second of this week after he was also thrown out on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers following another scuffle.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffK\ufefflay Thompson and McDaniels, what is going on with that? You've got a full-on fracas going on," said Warriors announcer Bob Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n

"Draymond came in to defend Klay (and) this got out of hand very quickly.<\/p>\n

"Look at Klay Thompson's jersey, it's ripped up\ufeff. That's more than a scuffle," added colour commentator Kelenna Azubuike.<\/p>\n

Following the incident, \ufeffthere were calls for the NBA to suspend Green, with The Athletic's Tony Jones labelling the four-time All-Star "unhinged in the last three games".<\/p>\n

Green has been no stranger to controversial incidents \ufeffthroughout his 11-year career. He found himself in hot water last year after punching then-teammate Jordan Poole<\/a> during a pre-season training session.<\/p>\n
