Ian Healy<\/a> has questioned the potency of strike bowler Mitchell Starc<\/a> with the world class short-form bowler only taking 10 wickets at an average of 43.90 in the World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starc confirmed to media this week he was rested for the last regular round clash against Bangladesh<\/a>\ufeff, simply stating his body is "alright" when asked.<\/p>\n

The left-armer admitted he wanted to play but "lost that argument".<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's a World Cup game, the way we started the campaign meant we couldn't rest anyone earlier in the campaign … we had the chance to with securing the semi-final spot the other night … I didn't have much of a say in my decision," he said.<\/p>\n

With Starc lacking the wicket tally expected from a bowler of his class, Healy believes resting the big fast bowler is a tactic to fire him up. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"He's not been potent at all in this tournament. 10 wickets off eight games is not bad but where are they? Where is he taking these wickets?," he said on SENQ.<\/p>\n

"(He's) not potent at all until he gets it right. He's got to zero in on the stumps much better than he has in this tournament. That's why they've tried to rest him, try to freshen him up to really get him to fire in on those stumps and feet."<\/p>\n

Australia's semi-final clash against South Africa will give them a chance to rectify the 134-run loss they suffered to them early in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Proteas opener Quinton De Kock currently sits second on the leading run scorers list \ufeffwith 591 at 65.66.<\/p>\n

Healy warned Australia will need to start strong to stop the side putting on a big score. \ufeff<\/p>\n
