NRL<\/a> legend Scott Sattler has called for the Gold Coast Titans<\/a> to "draw a line in the sand" with star forward David Fifita<\/a> after revelations he has a clause relating to new coach Des Hasler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fifita had a clause that made him a free agent when Justin Holbrook was sacked but went on to sign a three-year deal worth a reported $1 million a season.<\/p>\n

However, player options for 2025 and 2026 mean he's a free agent as he looks to work with his new mentor.<\/p>\n

News Corp reports he has until round 10 to activate the player option for 2025 and believe the clause is to see if Hasler's signing works out.<\/p>\n

Sattler, a former Gold Coast Chargers player and premiership winner with Penrith Panthers, believes a number of clubs will look at signing the Origin second-rower.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI reckon (after) the first nine or 10 rounds … as devastating as what we think he will be, well then clubs will start enquiring with his manager, that's just the way it works," Sattler told 9News Queensland.<\/p>\n

It's a strange blow for the Titans, who had re-signed Fifita in August along with club captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui\ufeff.<\/p>\n

Sattler wants the club to be firm on its position as Fifita weighs up his future. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"The club have to be strong, draw a line in the sand and say this is what we stand for, you either want to get on board or you don't," he said.<\/p>\n
