With our rankings, it's done over two years so I've just got to keep playing my best golf for the next six months."<\/p>\n \ufeffIn May, Green won the JM Eagle LA Championship to chalk up her long-awaited third career win on the LPGA Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n Having spent five years on tour, the 26-year-old reflected on how tough it is to be successful week-in, week-out.<\/p>\n "\ufeffIt's the most difficult thing about professional golf," she said.<\/p>\n "\ufeffSometimes you play your best golf and there's someone who just plays better than you. It's really hard. There's just so much talent coming along in the men's and women's games.<\/p>\n "Last year, we had nearly 30 events on tour and for 11 of the winners, it was their first time. So, it's hard to win out there whether you're a seasoned veteran or if it's your first time on tour."<\/p>\n Green clinched her \ufefffirst major, the women's PGA Championship, in 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Under high stress, the Perth local shot a 72 for a nine-under total of 207 to win by one shot from defending champion Sung Hyun Park (68).<\/p>\n "That entire week, I never expected to \ufeffwin. I don't know, maybe that was a good mindset to have," she said.<\/p>\n "\ufeffOnce I got in that moment, it was so new to me that I had no fear.<\/p>\n "\ufeffNow that I've been on your for several years, there are a few more nerves but in a different way.<\/p>\n "Having that tournament win, especially being a major championship, it gives me a lot of confidence for when I'm in those tight, high-pressure moments and it definitely makes me more hungry to hoist the trophy again."<\/p>\n Green\ufeff made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020 where she finished equal fifth in the women's individual stroke play event, three shots short of a podium finish<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n
