M\ufeffatildas<\/a> stars are poised to earn almost $100,000 more per year on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement that will provide players with a share of revenue they help generate.<\/p>\n

Football Australia<\/a> and the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) announced a new four-year deal on Wednesday that will cover the 2023 and 2027 Asian Cups, Paris 2024, the 2026 Women's Asian Cup, the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.<\/p>\n

Top Matildas and Socceroos<\/a> stars will now be able to earn up to $200,000 per year as a base rate on top of a share of any revenue from showpiece tournaments, a major rise on the $110,000 per year tier-one Matildas players earned under the previous deal.<\/p>\n

The new deal will see 70 per cent of the players' salary be made up of match fees while the other 30 per cent will come in the form of an annual commercial payment.<\/p>\n

\ufeffUnder the new deal, the Matildas player payments will transition immediately from centralised contracts to match and commercial payments.<\/p>\n

The new CBA has also preserved the gender equality model to ensure players receive equal pay, \ufeffemployment and high-performance standards.<\/p>\n

Football Australia CEO James Johnson described the new CBA as a "landmark" deal.<\/p>\n

Other major highlights of the new CBA include enhanced parental policy provisions, a commitment to develop a Football Australia human rights policy, and welfare and development assistance for past players.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"From the outset of these negotiations, our ambition was to set up the game for more success, but we also wanted to ensure that we leave the game in a better place for those who follow us," PFA president and Socceroos star Jackson Irvine added in the statement.<\/p>\n

"This agreement will ensure that our National Team players have everything they need to excel on the pitch, a more robust partnership that can strengthen the game and, importantly, allow us to have more impact off the pitch than ever before.<\/p>\n
