Springboks star Bongi Mbonambi has broken his silence on the Tom Curry racial slur saga<\/a>, accusing England of being "unprofessional" with their complaints.<\/p>\n

World Rugby said it found no evidence that Mbonambi racially abused England flanker Curry<\/a> during the Rugby World Cup semi-final in France last month.<\/p>\n

\ufeffCurry complained to New Zealand referee Ben O'Keeffe during the match but was waved away.<\/p>\n

Mbonambi denied racially abusing Curry and said there was a misunderstanding because he was speaking Afrikaans.<\/p>\n

"I think it is a very sad thing when you live in a first world country, you think the rest of the world speaks English," Mbonambi told BBC Sport Africa.<\/p>\n

"It was unprofessional on their part. They could have gone on a website and looked for an English dictionary and looked for the word in Afrikaans.<\/p>\n

"People understood (in South Africa) but obviously their side was misunderstood."<\/p>\n

England's Rugby Football Union had said it was "deeply disappointed" by the decision to clear Mbonambi.<\/p>\n

"I'm glad it was well taken care of and that is all in the past now," Mbonambi said.<\/p>\n
