Erling Haaland continued his Champions League goal glut as Manchester City became the first team to advance to the knockout stages with a 3-0 cruise over Young Boys on Wednesday (AEDT).<\/a><\/p>\n

Haaland, who finished second behind Lionel Messi in last week's Ballon d'Or awards<\/a>, scored two goals as the defending champions extended their perfect record after four games in Group G.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old's first goal was a routine penalty in the 23rd minute – before unleashing a Didier Drogba tribute celebration – but his second will sound alarm bells around the football world.<\/p>\n

The towering Norwegian fired an unstoppable shot \ufeffinto the top corner from the edge of the area in the 51st minute before being substituted at Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

"Now it is time to pay attention because Erling Haaland has decided to have a shot from range," European football expert Lars Sivertsen – who has penned a book on Haaland – said on Stan Sport.<\/p>\n

"Which he doesn't do very often, but maybe he should. I mean, in the Premier League this season, in the first 11 games, he's had two shots from outside the box and one of them's gone in.<\/p>\n

Haaland has now scored a remarkable 39 goals in 34 Champions League appearances.<\/p>\n

The win extended City's unbeaten home run in Europe's elite club tournament to 28 games.<\/p>\n

Young Boys were reduced to 10 men when Sandro Lauper was sent off in the second half.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, AC Milan scored for the first time in this season's Champions League to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in a hugely entertaining match and leave Group F wide open.<\/p>\n

Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud scored early in each half to help Milan recover from conceding a ninth minute opener to former Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar and give their team its first group win.<\/p>\n

There were chances galore in an end to end match played at a breathless pace at San Siro.<\/p>\n

Milan, which lost 3-0 at PSG two weeks ago, started the day bottom of its group.<\/p>\n
