Sam Cane\ufeff's torment has deepened after the heartbroken All Blacks captain was suspended for the tackle that got him red carded in last month's Rugby World Cup final.<\/a><\/p>\n

World Rugby banned the flanker for three games for the 29th minute high shot on Springboks centre Jesse Kriel.<\/p>\n

The suspension will be reduced to two matches if Cane successfully completes tackle school.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old's ban will be served in Japan this month after he announced a sabbatical \ufeffcontract with Tokyo Sungoliath.<\/p>\n

Cane was the first man to be sent off in a World Cup final and South Africa won the game 12-11 in Paris.\ufeff<\/p>\n

At the hearing Cane argued that he \ufeffdidn't believe the tackle warranted a red card but the judiciary disagreed, saying it was reckless with a high degree of danger.<\/p>\n

The panel took into account Cane's disciplinary record and remorse.<\/p>\n

"Just so much hurt right now," Cane said immediately after the final at Stade de France.<\/p>\n

"It's actually hard to find words to explain it. It's so, so hard. I'm feeling so much hurt, but I am so proud of the group the way they fought back and gave ourselves a shot of winning that game…<\/p>\n
