Kane Cornes<\/a> has tipped Carlton<\/a> to win next year's AFL<\/a> premiership in his "way too early" prediction after an impressive year in 2023.<\/p>\n

The Blues overcame a slow start to the season to reach their first preliminary final since 2000, eventually going down to the Brisbane Lions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"It's my way too early premiership prediction," Cornes said of his Blues pick on SEN.<\/p>\n

"I've got the Blues winning it next year. It's early, it's November 3, but it's my way too early pre, pre, pre-season prediction.<\/p>\n

"I think the Blues win it next year."<\/p>\n

\ufeffCarlton was quiet in the trade period, adding talented Suns youngster Elijah Hollands while losing Zac Fisher to the Kangaroos.<\/p>\n

However, it is the addition of former Essendon forward Orazio Fantasia<\/a> that has Cornes excited.<\/p>\n

Fantasia signed with Carlton as a delisted free agent after he was not offered a new deal with the Power, and is a player with serious upside, according to Cornes.<\/p>\n

"There's little risk associated with doing it because you're not paying him a lot. If he doesn't play, he's not going to cost you much. The upside is high.<\/p>\n

"Andrew Russell is as good a fitness boss in the league. They'll back him in to get a program together for Orazio where he can play.<\/p>\n

"If he played 16 games for the year, and three finals, it's a good get. I think they'll manage that throughout the year."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
