Two former Wallabies \ufeffand a high performance expert will spearhead Rugby Australia's external review into the disastrous Rugby World Cup campaign.<\/a><\/p>\n

RA on Thursday announced that former Test captain Andrew Slack and ex-lock Justin Harrison would conduct the review along with \ufeffexperienced consultant Darlene Harrison.<\/p>\n

RA said \ufeffan unnamed Pasifika advisor would also support the panel and process, a nod to the large Pasifika presence in a World Cup squad that failed to make the quarter-finals for the first time.<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite coach Eddie Jones already quitting the Wallabies, the panel will \ufeffdelve deep into the French flop and aim to deliver its recommendations to the RA board before the end of the year.<\/p>\n

"As rugby fans, we were all disappointed in the results at the World Cup \u2013 the performance was not good enough for a proud rugby nation like ours," RA chief executive Phil Waugh said.<\/p>\n

"We had a new coach, new staff and a lot of new players \u2013 many of whom have only just started their careers, and who will be the future stars of Australian rugby.<\/p>\n

"The Wallabies have a proud history as one of Australia's most loved sporting teams, and it is our responsibility as custodians to continually seek to improve performance and deliver a world class program.<\/p>\n

"Andrew, Justin and Darlene are highly respected, and I believe they possess the credentials to be able to deliver a thorough and considered external review."<\/p>\n

Waugh on \ufeffTuesday said RA was in no rush to appoint Jones' successor and he and chairman Hamish McLennan are both hoping to continue in their roles.<\/p>\n
