E\ufeffssendon<\/a>'s off-season has received another boost with young winger Nic Martin re-signing with the club.<\/p>\n

Martin, 22, has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will see him remain a Bomber through the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

"The future is bright at Essendon. It's the potential in our young side and the vision that Brad has for the team that excites me for what is to come," he said.<\/p>\n

"Over the past two years, this playing group and the wider club have embraced me, and I feel as though I've grown a lot as a person and a footballer because of them.<\/p>\n

"I'm so thankful for Essendon for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream of playing AFL<\/a>. Now I can't wait to continue to re-pay the faith in the club over the coming years."\ufeff<\/p>\n

After joining Essendon as a rookie through the 2022 pre-season supplemental selection period, Martin has become a mainstay in the Bombers line-up and one of the AFL's most reliable young wingers.<\/p>\n

He kicked five goals and had 27 disposals in his first AFL match in round one, 2022, and continued his terrific form in 2023, averaging \ufeff22 disposals per game in 23 appearances.<\/p>\n

"Nic has exceeded expectations since joining the club at the start of last year as a SSP player," Essendon list boss Adrian Dodoro said.<\/p>\n

"His professionalism on and off the field has been outstanding, and it's fantastic to see him getting the rewards after years of hard work.<\/p>\n

"Nic has grown to become an extremely important player for us. His ability to read the play and his reliability with the ball in hand are valuable to our team.<\/p>\n
