Australian rugby's woes\ufeff have resulted in Angus Crichton<\/a> giving up on his Wallabies<\/a> dream and committing to the final year of his deal with the Roosters<\/a>, according to Nine's Danny Weidler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crichton's manager, David Rawlings, found dealing with Rugby Australia<\/a> so difficult that he handed over the duties to David Shand, leaving him discussing Crichton's potential move with RA chairman Hamish McLennan and head of contracting Toby Duncan.<\/p>\n

Discussions continued with the Western Force<\/a> in the meantime.<\/p>\n

Australian rugby's failure to poach Crichton, an Australian and NSW representative, follows the sacking of Dave Rennie as coach, Eddie Jones' appointment<\/a> and the Wallabies' worst-ever World Cup campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What's more is the Jones saga is growing uglier by the day with The Sydney Morning Herald reporting on Friday that the embattled coach and RA had entered formal discussions about an exit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Like a vast majority of the rugby public, we are apprehensive about the immediate state of the game," Rawlings said.<\/p>\n

"You could reference the assessment made by the head coach (Jones) just days ago to justify that.<\/p>\n

"We have moved on and my client is focused on the upcoming pre-season with the Roosters."<\/p>\n

The Sydney Morning Herald reported in September that RA had tabled a $1.6 million deal for Crichton<\/a>, which would have seen him play for the Wallabies and the Western Force.\ufeff<\/p>\n
