The Wallaroos<\/a> have recorded one of their greatest ever wins with a 29-20 upset of world No.3 France in Dunedin on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Australia, ranked fifth in the world, were not expected to seriously trouble a French team that had stunned world champions New Zealand 18-17 the week before in Wellington.<\/p>\n

But the Wallaroos flipped the script behind dynamic prop \ufeffEva Karpani, who scored a hat-trick under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium.<\/p>\n

It was Australia's first win over France since 2010 and the Wallaroos (1-1) remain in the hunt for the inaugural WXV1 trophy.<\/p>\n

"It's an incredibly special result to us. It's our first win against France since 2010 and the first time playing them for a lot of girls in our squad," Wallaroos captain Michaela Leonard said.<\/p>\n

"It's been a bit of an up and down year for us and over the last couple months as a group we've been working really hard to keep building and to keep working on the areas where we want to improve.<\/p>\n

"We showed that tonight. Every time we asked for more, the girls lifted up a gear.<\/p>\n

The Wallaroos travelled to Auckland on Sunday to prepare for their final WXV1 fixture against Wales at Mount Smart Stadium on November 3.<\/p>\n
