C\ufeffameron Murray<\/a> has equalled Ron Coote's Kangaroos<\/a> try-scoring record after scoring his sixth try in six consecutive international games.<\/p>\n

Coming into Australia's Pacific Championships clash with the Kiwis<\/a>, the legendary Coote was the only Kangaroos forward to score tries in six consecutive Tests, after starting the run in the 1968 World Cup.<\/p>\n

With coverage around the record, Murray knew he was a chance at joining Coote and did so with just one minute remaining, giving the Kangaroos a 38-18 win.<\/p>\n

Murray ran through New Zealand's defence after a brilliant Nicho Hynes short ball and approached the line with his tongue sticking out.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHe knew, he wasn't going to pass then and then the tongue came out," rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns said on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"There it is, he is copying. It is a beautiful ball here from Nicho Hynes."<\/p>\n

NRL legend Phil Gould was in awe of the achievement while also praising the legendary status of Coote. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"That is in the footsteps of greatness," he said.<\/p>\n

"The great Ron Coote who will no doubt be sitting home watching this.<\/p>\n

"A try in six consecutive Test matches. Ron Cootes scored a try in every World Cup game in 1968. Then must have continued that on against New Zealand in '69, I am told.<\/p>\n

Murray's try finished off a brilliant second half from the Kangaroos after the score was 18-12 at half-time with Lindsay Collins scoring a double.<\/p>\n

The Kiwis stayed in touch with the Kangaroos right up until the 69th minute when Fa'amanu Brown scored when it was \ufeff26-18.<\/p>\n
