Australian\ufeff<\/a> captain Pat Cummins<\/a> struggled to hold back laughs after being asked if he was sad to see Ashes rivals England<\/a>'s poor form during the Cricket World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

England went down by a whopping eight wickets to Sri Lanka Thursday<\/a>, much to the delight of Cummins, as the Australians prepare to face their more "placid" rivals, New Zealand, on Saturday.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It was… sad to see," Cummins said through a chuckle on Friday.<\/p>\n

"Don't have much for it\ufeff."<\/p>\n

However, Cummins still maintained that his side will analyse England closely and will expect them to bring their best cricket when they face off on November 4.<\/p>\n

"Yeah, obviously\ufeff got them in a couple games time, so we'll have a closer look there," Cummins said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

As for the possible returns of Marcus Stoinis from a calf injury and Travis Head, who is out with a left hand fracture, Cummins remained tight-lipped on the moves Australia will make at the crease.<\/p>\n

"Don't know to be honest," Cummins responded when asked about the pair's fitness levels.<\/p>\n

"They both trained on game day a couple of days ago, so we'll see."<\/p>\n

If Head is selected, he will open the batting with David Warner. It means that Mitch Marsh will move down to three, with Steve Smith in fourth.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Meantime, \ufeffCummins also touched on a more "placid" rivalry between New Zealand, but didn't take away from what is a must-win for the Aussies.<\/p>\n

"Most of the Kiwis are pretty placid," Cummins said on Friday.<\/p>\n

"We're pretty similar. We've played a lot of cricket with these guys, some of these guys are really good mates with our players," he said.<\/p>\n

"If anything, it makes you want to beat your mates even more."<\/p>\n

"It will be intense out there," he said.<\/p>\n
