Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga<\/a> has hinted at a huge boost for the Australian squad, with star five-eighth Cameron Munster<\/a> almost certain to face New Zealand in Saturday night's Pacific Championships<\/a> clash.<\/p>\n

Munster had battled a virus during\ufeff the week, but has done the work to prove his fitness during the Kangaroos final training session on Friday.<\/p>\n

Meninga had originally raised doubts over Munster's \ufeffhealth and fitness, pointing towards Friday's session as his final chance to prove he is ready.<\/p>\n

"Not sure at this stage (if he'll play). He's a lot better, obviously," Meninga said before the final session on Friday.<\/p>\n

"He probably needs to get all his energy back.<\/p>\n

\"MANCHESTER,<\/p>\n

"I think he can come back in the group at this stage. He's still a little bit fluey."<\/p>\n

Meninga confirmed that Munster had been completely cut off from Kangaroos teammates and staff since Wednesday\ufeff, with his return long-awaited and needed for his mental health.<\/p>\n

"I think getting amongst the group is going to do well for his sanity," Meninga said.<\/p>\n

\"Kangaroos<\/p>\n

"We'll see how he pulls up today and then we'll gauge it overnight. I think he'll be ready to play and he wants to play, but it's up to his energy levels to see if he's up for a Test match.<\/p>\n

"(It's a case of) how he pulls up today, really\ufeff."<\/p>\n

\"Nicho<\/p>\n

Former Storm teammate Nicho Hynes will still remain on standby to replace him in the side that will play at AAMI Park on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

"We've got no secrets, Nicho (Hynes) will go straight into six," Meninga said.<\/p>\n
