Glenn Maxwell<\/a>\ufeff and David Warner<\/a> treated fans to spectacular shows with the bat on Wednesday night, but there was also a striking display put on by lights at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium.<\/p>\n

After setting up the biggest-ever World Cup victory by smashing the tournament's fastest-ever ton<\/a>, Maxwell was left covering his eyes as Australia fielded during the clash with the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

The gun all-rounder blasted the lightshow\ufeff after collecting player-of-the-match honours, taking aim at an innovation that's featured in a host of fixtures throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n

"Well, I had something like that light show happen at Perth Stadium during a Big Bash game," Maxwell said.<\/p>\n

"And I just felt like it gave me shocking headaches and it takes me a while for my eyes to readjust and I just think it's the dumbest idea for cricketers.<\/p>\n

\"Glenn<\/p>\n

"So I just try and cover up as much as I possibly can and ignore it, but it's a horrible, horrible idea. Great for the fans, horrible for the players."<\/p>\n

However, Warner said on social media that he "absolutely loved the light show".<\/p>\n

"What an atmosphere," the veteran opener said on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n

"It's all about the fans. Without you all we won't be able to do what we love."<\/p>\n

M\ufeffaxwell blasted 106 runs from just 44 balls after striding to the middle at the beginning of the 40th over.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old took\ufeff only 40 deliveries to reach his third century in one-day international cricket and pretended to rock a baby when he brought up triple figures, gesturing to the birth of he and his wife's newborn.<\/p>\n

He admitted to not feeling well before heading out to bat.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I was sitting in the changing room and I didn't really want to bat, which is a bit different than the last game where I was way too eager to get out there," Maxwell said.<\/p>\n

"I was a little bit more chilled when I got out there. Didn't have many high hopes, I think.<\/p>\n
