Melbourne<\/a> young gun Rhys McKenna was wrongly dismissed during the Stars' four-wicket loss to the Strikers<\/a> at Junction Oval on Tuesday after a bizarre stumping was unable to be overturned.<\/p>\n

In the \ufeff15th over of the match, Strikers seamer Megan Schutt delivered a yorker that whizzed past McKenna before ricocheting off wicketkeeper Bridget Patterson's pads and into the stumps.<\/p>\n

The Strikers appealed for the stumping which square leg umpire Lisa McCabe gave, sending McKenna packing for 14.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHowever, subsequent replays showed that McKenna had not lifted her right foot until after the ball struck the stumps, meaning she should not have been dismissed.<\/p>\n

"Hang on, how is that out?," former Stars batter Kelly Applebee said in commentary.<\/p>\n

"That's not out. She was well and truly in her crease.<\/p>\n

"That is ridiculous."<\/p>\n

There was no\ufeff third umpire or DRS available at the match to review the decision.<\/p>\n

Review technology will only be available for 24 of the 59 WBBL<\/a> matches this season.<\/p>\n

In the previous over, England international Alice Capsey had been stumped in a similar fashion.<\/p>\n

Behind the wickets in just her third WBBL game,\ufeff Patterson finished the innings with three stumpings to equal the Strikers' record.<\/p>\n

The Stars brought up 6-133 with England recruit Maia Bouchier their top scorer on 48 (38), however Strikers' batter Katie Mack anchored the chase with 48 run of her own to help her side over the line with two balls to spare.<\/p>\n
