Neither do the doctors. It's pretty bad. You want to know. This is something that is aching the heart."<\/p>\n The boy was born in June and \ufeffstayed at Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital as doctors tried to diagnose why he was unwell.<\/p>\n "It's something that's so unexpected," Ahmed said.<\/p>\n "You're excited, you're happy about the birth of your child, and then suddenly you go to some dark places, and you don't know what's going to happen.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n "Our lives have completely changed. Every morning, we just wake up and get ready to go to the hospital. Then in the evening, we come back. That's it, nothing else."<\/p>\n Th\ufeffe boy was Ahmed and his wife's second child \u2014 a brother to their three-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n After fleeing Pakistan and settling in Australia as an asylum seeker in 2010, Ahmed made five international appearances for Australia in 2013 across ODI and T20I matches.<\/p>\n Last month, Ahmed said he hoped to continue playing in the Big Bash League after playing four matches as a replacement player for the Melbourne Renegades last summer.<\/p>\n Ahmed recently re-signed with his first Australian cricket club, Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Pakistan-born Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed has announced the heartbreaking death of his fourth-month-old son.
