Prolific All Blacks winger Will Jordan \ufeffneeds just one more try to break the record for most tries scored at a single Rugby World Cup.<\/a><\/p>\n

That enviable accolade should already be his if not for Richie Mo'unga's brain fade in the semi-final win over Argentina.<\/a><\/p>\n

Jordan's hat-trick against Los Pumas drew him level with rugby icons Jonah Lomu, Bryan Habana and Julian Savea with eight tries in a tournament.<\/p>\n

He would have had the easiest of finishes for a fourth in the dying minutes at Stade de France but \ufeffMo'unga bizarrely elected to have a crack himself and ignore the unmarked speedster.<\/p>\n

Mo'unga was denied in the 44-6 romp.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He definitely owes him a beer after this," former Wallabies captain James Horwill said on Stan Sport's RWC 2023 Central<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"This is a walk in for Will Jordan. How has he not passed that ball? And he didn't score. I think that's even worse.<\/p>\n

"You see afterwards when he (Mo'unga) gets up, he puts a hand up and gives a big 'I'm sorry.' He could have had the record before going to the final and we wouldn't be talking about it."<\/p>\n

Jordan, 25, has scored a remarkable 31 tries from just 30 Tests.<\/p>\n

Japan's Daisuke Ohata holds the all-time record with 69 tries from 58 Tests, ahead of South Africa's Habana (67 from 124\ufeff) and Australia's David Campese (64 from 101).<\/p>\n

"He's an unbelievable talent," Horwill said of Jordan.<\/p>\n

"He's just a prolific finisher and someone that again comes from that system that the All Blacks seem to produce.<\/p>\n

"Amazing wingers and he's certainly another one that's come off the line\ufeff."<\/p>\n

Two-time World Cup winner Tim Horan noted that Jordan wasn't even playing in his best position.\ufeff<\/p>\n
