Australian all-rounder and Brisbane Heat<\/a> opener G\ufeffrace Harris was not going to let a broken bat disrupt her groundbreaking innings in her side's 50-run win over Scorchers<\/a> at North Sydney Oval on Sunday.<\/p>\n

During the 14th over and with the Heat flying on 4-135, Harris noticed the handle of her bat had split but carried on unfazed.<\/p>\n

"Hey guys, I need a new bat," Harris could be heard saying on Seven's WBBL broadcast.<\/p>\n

Asked if she needed a replacement before Piepa Cleary bowled her next delivery, Harris quipped: "Nah, nah it's alright".<\/p>\n

With the next ball, Harris' bat \ufeffshattered, sending the face of the bat hurtling towards her batting partner Bess Heath at the other end of the crease.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, \ufeffthe ball sailed over the rope at mid-wicket for a stunning 72-metre\ufeff six.<\/p>\n

"There it is," Andrew Maher said on commentary for Seven.<\/p>\n

"She knew \ufeffand she still hit it for six. Extraordinary stuff.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIf you want to talk about the power that this woman possesses, that was a check swing with a broken handle," former Australian paceman Trent Copeland added.<\/p>\n

With a new bat in hand, the \ufeff30-year-old then smashed the following delivery for six before going on to score the highest-ever individual score in the WBBL's history<\/p>\n

At the end of the Heat's innings, Harris\ufeff was unbeaten on 136 off 59 deliveries to set a commanding total of 7-229. This doubled as the second-highest team score in the competition's history.<\/p>\n

Harris recorded 12 boundaries and 11 sixes, another WBBL record, only requiring 48 deliveries to reach triple figures.\ufeff<\/p>\n
