South Africa will play New Zealand in Sunday's (AEDT) Rugby World Cup final after a heart-stopping semi-final win over England in Paris.<\/a><\/p>\n

Handre Pollard, who wasn't even in South Africa's original squad due to injury, kicked the clutch, match-winning penalty from halfway in the 78th minute of the 16-15 triumph at Stade de France.<\/a><\/p>\n

An inspired England led throughout the night before Springboks giant RG Snyman \ufeffscored the only try of the match in the 69th minute to turn the tide in a game slowed by high stakes and wet conditions.<\/p>\n

The final \ufeffwill be a repeat of the iconic 1995 decider won by South Africa in Johannesburg in front of the late Nelson Mandela.<\/p>\n

"It was a big moment but it is what you want as a player on this stage, to have moments like that as a fly half is what you live for. It was fun," Pollard said of the winning kick.<\/p>\n

"It's unbelievable, it's a lot of relief in this moment. Frustrated we weren't at our best tonight, especially in that first half.<\/p>\n

\"Snyman\u00a0gives<\/p>\n

"We knew we had so much more to give but fair play to England, I think they put us under pressure in exactly the right areas.<\/p>\n

"But jeez the fight we showed never giving up, it is what we stand for as a team and as a nation."<\/p>\n

England captain \ufeffOwen Farrell kicked all of England's points, including a sweet drop goal that gave the underdogs a 15-6 lead with less than half an hour to play.<\/p>\n

"After a difficult loss like this all that stands with me is how proud I am to be English," Farrell said.<\/p>\n

"You can always look back at things but South Africa are a top, top side. They have shown that over the course of the World Cup.<\/p>\n

"We have been on a different journey over the course of this and I'm just proud of where we've been at these last couple of weeks and where we've built to and where this team can go from now on."<\/p>\n
