South Africa<\/a> assistant coach Mzwandile Stick has slammed social media trolls who sent a death threat to halfback Cobus Reinach, labelling them "hooligans".<\/p>\n

Ahead of the Springboks' Rugby World Cup<\/a> semi final against England<\/a>, \ufeffdirector of rugby Rassie Erasmus posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, revealing the abuse sent to Reinach.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old was targeted following South Africa's 29-28 win over France<\/a> in the quarter-final\ufeff but Stick confirmed he was in a "good space" following the incident.<\/p>\n

"We're well aware of the situation with Cobus and his family," he said ahead of his side's clash in Paris.<\/p>\n

"We don't have a place for hooligans in our game. The players do their job to make sure they represent their country and we are here to represent South Africa.<\/p>\n

"If somebody has got a problem with that, I think the French authorities will have to deal with that.<\/p>\n

"But from our side, we'll make sure we protect each other: our players, management, everyone involved.<\/p>\n

"We don't have a place for that in the game. You win some, lose some as part of the game.<\/p>\n

"Whoever sent that message to the player, I'm really disappointed about that.<\/p>\n

Stick also praised the French security for their work throughout the whole tournament, declaring there's nothing to worry about at the moment. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"In our camp, we must also give credit to the French security around our hotels. With all the teams, the security is just another level," he said.<\/p>\n
