The return of the United Cup<\/a> to Sydney and Perth this summer will be headlined by men's World No.1 Novak Djokovic<\/a> and women's World No.2 Iga Swiatek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Djokovic will lead the Serbian team, one of four countries \u2013 along with Canada, China and the Netherlands \u2013 making their United Cup debut.<\/p>\n

Leading the Australian charge will be Alex de Minaur<\/a> and Ajla Tomljanovic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Swiatek's Poland team have been named top seeds. She will lead the team alongside men's World No.11 Hubert Herkacz.<\/p>\n

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari will lead the second-seeded Greece side, with Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz set to lead the third-seeded USA.<\/p>\n

Other top players include Caroline Garcia (France), Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada), Casper Ruud (Norway), Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber (Germany), and Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter (Great Britain).<\/p>\n

The Czech Republic, Croatia, Spain and Italy are the other four nations confirmed, with two more to be confirmed on November 20.<\/p>\n

United Cup Tournament Director Stephen Farrow said it was a "fantastic" field with "great depth".<\/p>\n

"The top 16 teams include some of the biggest names in tennis \u2026 (and) they are all set to play in a format designed to showcase both the men's and women's game and the unique equality in tennis," he said.<\/p>\n

"We can't wait to see some exciting match-ups between such a high calibre playing field, and lots of entertaining tennis in what promises to be a blockbuster event."\u00a0<\/p>\n

The United Cup boasts $15 million prize money and 500 rankings points for both the men and the women.<\/p>\n

Eighteen countries will be split into six pools of three split across Sydney and Perth and compete in a round-robin format.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Each tie will be determined in one session by a mens and women's singles match \u2013 to be played by the country's top-ranked player, which guarantees fans will see their favourite players in action \u2013 and then a mixed doubles match.<\/p>\n

The winners of each group will go through to the quarter final, as will the best-performing runner-up from each city.<\/p>\n

The winners of the quarters will progress to the semi-finals and final in Sydney.<\/p>\n

The draw will take place in Sydney on Monday, before tickets go on sale on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Play will get underway in Perth on December 29 and Sydney on December 30.<\/p>\n
