Xavier Duursma and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher have new AFL homes after a nerve-wracking finale to the 2023 trade period.<\/p>\n

Despite being two players who voiced their intentions to join Essendon<\/a> and Port Adelaide<\/a> early in the window, the two clubs haggled over late picks before agreeing on a deal with just minutes left in the trade period.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe're cutting it fine, but it's good," Zerk-Thatcher's manager Tom McConville told AFL Trade Radio.<\/p>\n

"We'd done as much work as we could, it was up to the clubs to get it done.<\/p>\n

"You're a middle man, to be honest. You're trying to get the best result for both parties. We wanted a fair outcome for everyone. It taken a fair while today, but we got it done."<\/p>\n

McConville revealed that Zerk-Thatcher left for Europe having no idea whether a trade could be brokered between the Bombers and Power.<\/p>\n

"He's been great, he's been really laidback and relaxed. Never really showed too much stress,to be honest," he said.<\/p>\n

The Duursma\/Zerk-Thatcher deal was the very last of 36 separate deals that took place over the last fortnight.<\/p>\n

3. Joel Hamling<\/strong> joins Sydney<\/strong> from Fremantle<\/strong> as an unrestricted free agent.\ufeff<\/p>\n

4. Tom Doedee<\/strong> joins Brisbane<\/strong> with Adelaide<\/strong> to receive an end of first-round pick<\/strong> as compensation after electing not to match the offer.<\/p>\n

5. Western Bulldogs<\/strong> trade two 2023 first-round picks<\/strong>\ufeff (currently No.10 and No.17)<\/strong> to the Gold Coast Suns<\/strong> in exchange for one 2023 first-round pick (currently No.4)<\/strong> and two 2023 third-round picks (currently No.46 and No.51) and a future third-round pick.<\/p>\n

6. Fremantle<\/strong> trades one 2023 second-round pick (currently No.23)<\/strong> to Port Adelaide<\/strong> in exchange for a future first-round pick<\/strong>.\ufeff<\/p>\n
