For the first time in more than two years, a team outside of California sits atop the USA TODAY Super 25 football rankings. It’s one of a few headline-grabbing moves this week, which also includes a significant shift after a major upset in Georgia as well as the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n

The methodology: the HSS staff creates the Super 25 rankings<\/a> while considering various data points, including strength of schedule, prospects, the more traditional stats\u2014did the team win or lose?\u2014as well as overall point differentials.<\/p>\n
