Rising Australian golfing talent Min Woo Lee<\/a> has claimed a wire-to-wire win at the Macau Open to secure his first title in two years.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old \ufeffshot a final round 63 to secure a two-shot victory over Thailand's Poom Saksanin in Macao, China on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Lee, who was ranked 47th in the world in the lead-up to the Asian Tour tournament, finished at 30-under par to set a new record at the event.<\/p>\n

With the result, Lee returns to the winner's circle for the first time since his triumph at the 2021 Scottish Open, while pocketing a cheque for more than $286,000.<\/p>\n

"I played wonderful, really flawless golf<\/a> for a lot of the holes," Lee said afterwards.<\/p>\n

"There were only a few holes that I could really look back on but I'm really proud of the way I handled myself."<\/p>\n

Lee \ufeffstarted the final round at the Macau Golf and Country Club with a two-shot lead over Saksanin, who also finished with an eight-under 63.<\/p>\n

With the margin holding strong at the \ufeffturn, Lee's watershed moment proved to be the 13th hole where he built a four-stroke buffer after he made an eagle for the second day in a row to Poom's par.<\/p>\n

"Poom played unbelievable today," Lee said.<\/p>\n

"He never left, he just stayed around. I tried my best and ended up on top, but he was giving it to me for the whole time."<\/p>\n

The previous record score at the tournament was set by fellow countryman Scott Hend, who shot 20-under to conquer the 2015 edition.<\/p>\n
