Tim Tszyu<\/a> has sent another ominous message to the United States and Jermell Charlo<\/a> after retaining his world title with a brutal display against Brian Mendoza.<\/p>\n

Mendoza lost no fans, showcasing his toughness, but was ultimately no match for Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs), who retained the WBO<\/a> super-welterweight title with a unanimous decision win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following the win, Tszyu's first words were for Charlo, who was recently beaten by Canelo Alvarez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffCharlo, where you at buddy?" he said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIn his delusional head, he'll probably think he's going to beat me. Come get it. Come get it."<\/p>\n

"I've got to go out there and prove it, Tszyu added later in a separate interview.<\/p>\n

"It's not an easy task and I know the level he's at, so I'll take it with both hands. I feel like I'm the best and I know I can beat him." <\/p>\n

Tszyu said he had no doubt that Charlo would be willing to fight him, as he eyes a trip to Vegas for his next fight.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He fought Canelo, the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world," he said.<\/p>\n

"He is the best 154, but now let's prove it to everyone who is really the king of the division."<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old said he was even willing to take on Alvarez at some stage, should his upward trajectory continue.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIf you're in this boxing game to not strive for something like that then you're in the wrong sport," he said.<\/p>\n

"Of course I'll take that (a fight with Alvarez) with both hands and I'll accept any challenge."<\/p>\n

The fight began positively for Mendoza, who was unfazed by the pro-Tszyu crowd as he came out on the attack in the opening seconds of the first round.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe American's positive start surprised boxing greats Jeff Fenech and Shawn Porter.<\/p>\n

While Mendoza found some success in the \ufefffourth round with a left jab, he also ate a huge head shot from Tszyu.<\/p>\n

Tszyu took control of the fight in the fifth round, with his head shots beginning to take a toll on Mendoza, whose face was left bruised and blood seeping from his nose.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Aussie looked close to flooring Mendoza in the seventh after he connected with a huge uppercut, but the American managed to stay on his feet.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Mendoza showcased his incredible toughness in the eighth round, as he exchanged huge shots with Tszyu, getting through the Australian's defence at times, while continuing to cop shots from Tszyu as well.\ufeff<\/p>\n

After a solid couple of rounds for Mendoza, Tszyu took the attack to his American opponent in the 10th and 11th rounds, unleashing flurry after flurry.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Tszyu's onslaught required a doctor to check in on Mendoza heading into the final round before the American was cleared to continue.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Despite beating Mendoza, Tszyu labelled his opponent "world class".\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He's tough, he's crafty\ufeff, he's slick, he's got power, he's world class for a reason, he's just behind me," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's my last hurrah and we've finished off with a bang. Hopefully we can go to Vegas all together.<\/p>\n
