M\ufeffelbourne<\/a> star Clayton Oliver<\/a> has been discharged from hospital after being admitted on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

According to SEN reports, the 26-year-old's hospital visit lasted a few hours before he was discharged "before midday". It followed a tumultuous week which saw his name in trade rumours.<\/p>\n

Melbourne confirmed the three-time All-Australian would remain at the club<\/a> late last week, with Demons chief executive Gary Pert saying the club was "aware of and supporting Clayton with his personal circumstances for some time and is committed to doing so".\ufeff<\/p>\n

Wide World of Sports has contacted Melbourne for a comment.\ufeff The club is expected to release a statement regarding Oliver's health this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon praised Melbourne for putting the "person first" in its discussions with Oliver since the end of the season.<\/p>\n

"At times you've got to weigh up … what's more important, the player or the person. Undeniably they put the person first in this whole situation and Clayton (and the club) has come together," he told AFL Trade Radio earlier this week after conversations with Oliver.<\/p>\n

Oliver was in attendance at Melbourne's best and fairest ceremony last Friday, where club vice-captain Jack Viney also admitted to his teammate's struggles<\/a>.<\/p>\n
