Kangaroos<\/a> star Reuben Cotter has issued a plea to Samoa<\/a>'s players not to rough him up too badly on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The reason?<\/p>\n

Cotter is set to marry long-time partner Mackenzie on Sunday, just hours after doing battle in the Pacific Championships opener in Townsville.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe North Queensland<\/a> forward has built a reputation for throwing himself head-first into collisions with players taller and heavier than himself.<\/p>\n

But Mackenzie has requested he make it to the alter with at least his face relatively unscathed.<\/p>\n

"Obviously the wedding is on Sunday, so it will ruin the wedding photos if I've got a few black eyes or a couple splits," Cotter told 9News in Kangaroos camp.<\/p>\n

"We've got photoshop these days too, which helps.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Cotter and Mackenzie had to put their honeymoon to Fiji on hold, given Australia has another game against New Zealand and then a potential Pacific Championships final.<\/p>\n

But there was no way either of them were going to suggest Reuben miss representing his country.<\/p>\n

"It's pretty special, any opportunity you get to pull on the green and gold is pretty special," he said.<\/p>\n

"I couldn't say no. She said 'you've got to play'.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Cotter made his Kangaroos debut at last year's World Cup, but didn't make the team for the final in which Australia beat Samoa.<\/p>\n

The two teams meet again on Saturday at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.<\/p>\n

Lining up on the other side of the field will be Cotter's Cowboys teammates Murray Taulagi, Heilum Luki, and Luciano Leilua.<\/p>\n
