With pool play at the Rugby World Cup<\/a> done and dusted, the quarter-final match-ups have been set.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After topping Pool C, Wales<\/a> will face Pool D second place getters Argentina<\/a> on Sunday at 2am at Stade de Marseille.<\/p>\n

Later that morning, Pool B toppers Ireland<\/a> will take on Pool A runners-up New Zealand<\/a> at 6am at Stade de France in Saint-Denis.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Pool D winners England<\/a> will take on Pool C bridesmaids Fiji<\/a> at 2am in Marseille.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the biggest match of the weekend will see Rugby World Cup hosts and Pool A toppers France<\/a> face Pool B second place finishers South Africa<\/a> at 6am in Saint-Denis.<\/p>\n

The winners of Wales\/Argentina will take on the winners of Ireland\/New Zealand in the first semi-final.<\/p>\n

The second semi-final will see the winner of England\/Fiji face either France or South Africa.<\/p>\n

Incredibly, for the first time in the history of the Rugby World Cup, northern hemisphere teams have topped every pool.<\/p>\n

It's also the first time New Zealand has not topped pool play after losing to France in the Rugby World Cup opener.<\/p>\n

For Australia, it's the first time they've not made the quarter-finals of a Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n

It's just the third time Ireland has topped pool play. The only other times they've done that is in 2011 and 2015.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While France v South Africa will be a hot topic, there's just as much interest in the Ireland v New Zealand match.<\/p>\n

For one team, history will repeat itself.<\/p>\n

Ireland has never made it past the quarter-finals at the Rugby World Cup, and against an underrated New Zealand there's every chance the All Blacks could pull off something of an upset.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New Zealand has only failed to go past the quarter-finals once. Ironically, that was 16 years ago in France.<\/p>\n

Damien Traille's forward pass to Frederic Michalak still lives fresh in the mind of most New Zealanders who rose early on Sunday morning to see the hosts win 20-18.<\/p>\n

It remains the worst result for the All Blacks in their storied history and it could yet repeat with Ireland the narrow favourites.<\/p>\n

Teams that have qualified for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia are: Argentina, Australia, England, Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales.<\/p>\n
