Tevita Pangai Junior<\/a> has signalled his intent for a rematch with Frank Amato and called out a rival after an enthralling six-round battle.<\/p>\n

Leading into the fight in Battle on the Reef, few expected Amato to survive the fight let alone go the distance.<\/p>\n

The pair were left leaning up against the ropes by the end of the contest<\/a>, each completely out of gas.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-fight, the former NSW Blues representative said he wanted a rematch and wanted to one day take on Aussie heavyweight Jackson Murray – who recently sparred with Francis Ngannou<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"I don't have an amateur career, so what? I'm going to prove the doubters wrong," he said on Stan's coverage.<\/p>\n

"I'm going to do it. I'm going to get back in the gym on Sunday, tomorrow. While everyone's partying, I'm going to train.<\/p>\n

"I've got that Tongan chin. It's granite. Nothing can put me down. I'm a heavyweight, but I can take them punches.<\/p>\n

"I'm not going to go ducking and dodging like Jackson Murray.<\/p>\n

"I've got a chin baby. Jackson Murray, I'm going to build my f—ing way up and take you on b—h."<\/p>\n

With that final comment, Pangai Junior then dropped the mic in Michael Zerafa's lap before storming off the set.<\/p>\n

Moments earlier, the retired NRL star hailed Amato's endurance and earmarked another fight in the future.<\/p>\n

"Man, he was a tough opponent," the 26-year-old said.<\/p>\n

"I want another eight weeks and then I want the rematch. I want to be fitter. I'm gonna train hard.<\/p>\n

"He wanted to go six rounds. It was tough. Sometimes you can't get the knock-out. I still got the win. Like I said, I want the rematch."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
