Future History has won the Bart Cummings at Flemington\ufeff to lock in the "golden ticket", securing a start in the Melbourne Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trainers David Eustace\ufeff and Ciaron Maher\ufeff have now won\ufeff three of the last four Bart Cummings races, an impressive feat for the pair.<\/p>\n

Jockey Craig Williams, who won the Melbourne Cup on Vow And Declare in 2019, was praised by Eustace ahead of the big race on November 6.<\/p>\n

"I thought Craig just controlled the race really well. We were quite confident that he had drawn well," Eustace said on Racing.com post-run.<\/p>\n

As for Future History\ufeff, Eustace recognised how much went into the victory.<\/p>\n

"We were comfortable with him leading if no other horse was keen to do so," he said.<\/p>\n

"He's been in work a long time, this horse\ufeff."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Future History won emphatically, beating second place by a half length.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Williams, who had a feel for his horse as part of an exhibition run last Sunday at Sandown, was grateful for another opportunity to ride to victory.<\/p>\n

"(Today's win gave me) confidence that I had a fit horse that galloped really well. I got a big understanding of his mannerisms here," Williams said.<\/p>\n

"He was such a lovely, relaxed horse\ufeff to lead up to gallop.<\/p>\n

"He's a deserved winner of the golden ticket into the Melbourne Cup.\ufeff"<\/p>\n
